Unknown Motives become clear.

So Michaela announced a few weeks ago that she was interested in going to the Boston Aquarium. We had no plans for going on vacation this summer- the Disney trip in March was our big va-cay for the year- but we thought, hey, why not go?

Dan and I brainstormed for about 24 hours about logistics, who would go (we decided I would stay home and Dan's dad could go with them), when they would leave, where to stay... the whole shabang.

At dinner the next night, I turned to Michaela. "What are you most excited to see at the aquarium?" I asked. "I didn't know you even knew anything about it."

"Oh," says Michaela, "I want to see the gift shop."

So... we decided to save the $300 we would spend going to the Boston Aquarium.

I'm going to order something from the gift shop online instead.

Knowing Michaela as I do, this makes PERFECT sense! Good thing Dan didn't take them over-can you imagine what he would have said when all she wanted to do was go to the gift shop???? Kids'll KILL 'ya!!!! Love, Mommy/Gammie

Hilarious! Who knew that that dinner conversation would save you tons of money?! Tell Michaela that the gift shop is my favorite part, too. What a girl!!

I don't think this syndrome is limited to girls....when we were debating about whether to take Scott with us on our Holy Land trip (he was 14), he wanted to know if they had video games there! We left him home! Love, LW
